What We Do
-
Breakfast-To-Go
We serve a free nutritious breakfast 7 days a week downtown Barrie. We serve breakfast each day outside the Upper Hall of Collier United Church, 112 Collier Street. We serve daily from 8:00 to 9:00 am. Everyone is welcome. In addition to food we provide toiletries, socks, toques, gloves and other basic items, in addition to seasonal clothing.
-
Night Shift
Volunteers go out in the evening during the winter months to distribute winter gear and clothing to those that are sleeping outside. We are out from 6:00-7:30 pm in the downtown core giving out hats, gloves, socks, snacks as well as sleeping bags, tarps, tents (when we have them) winter coats, boots and other clothing.
-
Peer Support
Our Peer Support volunteers make the rounds in the downtown area on a daily basis. They provide them with basic necessities and try to connect with them with support services. As our peer support volunteers have lived experience they have a special understanding of the needs and challenges facing those experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance use challenges.
